North- American Shamanism, Spirit guides and Animal Totems: How Animals fit into Spirituality!
My encounter with my Shamanic Spirit Guide:

I found my totem animal by accident: I was invited to a healing circle in NYC and participated in a Pipe sharing ceremony. Little the less was I interested in Shamanic Medicine but just for the heck of it, I joined the circle. I was told that if I was a female in my menstrual period, I could pass the Pipe along by respecting it but not touching it, so I did. After the circle, I taught in myself that this would be one time only experience. But it this case my totem animal was of the cat type species, being a cat lover and expert, I realized later that you don't get to chose when you deal with cats. My cats were the kind who knew how to communicate telepathically! "You do not choose a Spirit Guide as your personal spirit guide. The Spirit chooses you and they decide to whom they will reveal themselves and make their friend." source: http://www.manataka.org/page291.html#FINDING YOUR ANIMAL TOTEM.
- Here is a tip from WIKI how to find your spirit guide or totem animal: http://www.wikihow.com/Find-Your-Spirit-Animal
- Quoted from Manataka American Indian Council website:
"The Lynx is an exquisitely beautiful member of the cat family know by its short, strong body and long legs, bobbed tail and tufts of fur that sprout out a the top of each ear. Their coats are thick and luxurious in the winter to protect them against the icy winds that prevail in the high mountainous regions of Canada and Alaska. Having large, padded paws the lynx is sure-footed on ice and snow while chasing its primary prey, the snowshoe hare. Like most cats, the Lynx will spend much of its life alone. The lynx has powerful eyesight and great abilities of stealth and cunning are formidable.
LYNX MEDICINE
- It is said the ancient Greeks believed the lynx could see through mountains and American Indians tell many stories about the hypnotic eyes of the lynx with their captivating powers seduction. These and other unique characteristics have encouraged ideas that the lynx has supernatural qualities.
- The lynx is a patient hunter and its messages often entail serenity, tolerance, understanding. The lynx helps us to endure waiting for long periods to achieve a necessary goal.
- The lynx is very territorial and will go to great lengths to protect its hunting grounds. If lynx is in your dreams and visions, you may be in need of spiritual or mental protection. The lynx keen nose can warn against negative invasions.
- As a solitary animal who hunts and lives alone much of its life, the lynx often comes to those who are loners by desire or design. Lessons of independence and self-reliance are part of its offering, but sometimes the message may be one to console a lonely heart or spirit.
- Because of its coloring, size and stealth, the lynx is able to blend and sometimes appear to disappear in its environment. This medicine is valuable in moving unseen between planes and remaining in the background, unobserved and not up front in relationships and events.
- Once the lynx has successfully tracked its prey, he will sit and quietly observe the whole environment before moving for the kill. Watching for intruders, other prey and passersby, the lynx will absorb all the various activities and weigh all the options before taking action. These characteristics are valuable lessons life in general terms for humans. Silent observation is a great power that allows one see things unnoticed by others. As we follow the power of good silence, we are able to hear the higher purpose intended by the Creator."

OXYTOCIN-OTICAL E-SCAMS!!! - FAKE LOVE AND COMRADESHIP OVER THE INTERNET!!!
After a long time of emotional – unavailability, I started my quest to look to go out on a date again. It has been seven years, back in 2005 when I had my heart broken – wow! Seven years of wallowing.
As soon as I introduced myself to the android and its numerous dating apps!
Along with the reputable dating sites like Match and E-harmony, I decided to explore on these free dating apps myself.
I re-activated my profile visibility on the Tagged.com site connected to a social network app named HI5 just for 5 minutes. The number of emails I received - were tremendous as they were for about 85% all about sexual solicitation. After I realized my mistake, I decided to delete the emails and opened a view here and there. On the way, I came across two emails – both with pictures of Caucasian military men “looking for love”. Consequently, I read both of them and deleted one, but the other one stood out for some reason and I responded to it because this picture of the this soldier had a great smile on it, although it was a small unclear picture. As soon as in a few seconds I received a response from this person calling himself Fran C. I told “him” that I do not give strangers any of my personal information.
Over the course of 2 weeks we exchanges small talk over the chat and I mistakenly revealed my trip to my brother in Albany NY. After exchanging another few days of chats, Fran C asked me my email address and he insisted that he could not talk about personal stuff over the HI5 chat but is willing to do so over email. I took a chance and I did. Soon he requested to add me to Yahoo messenger. He send me pictures of himself and he gave me his name as Caleb Aning (Author’s note: at that time, I had no idea that “Aning” was a Ghanaian name originating from Accra’s Ga speaking tribes – Ghana, West African).
Another week went by and on my birthday, I got the day off and spent most of my time lonely in my room. Suddenly, Caleb Aning buzzed me on the Yahoo Messenger App – I ‘ve downloaded on my android phone. We chatted over yahoo for 5 hours and my pineal gland must have excreted a bunch of the love hormone Oxytocin – Is this how people fall in love over the Internet. Immediately, I started imagining the image of the photos he did send me, and the way he interacted with me over Yahoo messenger. He claimed to me that he lived in upstate, Albany (distancing himself from me after I disclosed my location was in NYC). Soon after that, my inquisitive questions about him started to rise, of which of many he ignored answering:
· Describe your surrounding in Albany, NY – (NOTE: IMPORTANT QUESTION TO ASK)
After a few days, Caleb Aning (the fake military who is really a Ga speaking Sakawa-Boy E-scammer from Ghana) text me that he has to face lawyers in Ghana to release some gold he inherited from his diseased father, but because he is not a native African but a Caucasian soldier he is supposed to get married first and then he can take the gold.
· I asked him to give me a telephone number in Albany, so I could call him and talk to him in person (he refused and said that he needed to travel to Africa and told me to wait a few days) – (NOTE: IMPORTANT QUESTION TO ASK)
Finally Caleb emailed me his phone number, which I apparently tried but the reply I got was that the telephone line was restricted.
· ALERT!!! – Caleb Aning used yahoo messenger on a LAPTOP apparently with a non-registered ISP address to continue communicating with me over Yahoo messenger. When I asked to try video calling – his excuse was that his old laptop computer freezes up if he attaches the video camera.
At this point, I became highly suspicious that this was a scam – but to confirm this – I played this out by pretending to be a sheepy victim.
The FINALE happened! Finally he asked me to pose as his bride in a proxy marriage, asked my exact address and money for shipment for the gold. I laughed and told me – yeah! I gotcha Mr. CON RIGHT!!!
WOW! I reported him to the FBI –E scam website and blocked “him” from yahoo messenger! Not trusting that tool again.
As conclusion - I make out that the best scams are the E-romance Scammers - know how to manipulate and rubbing us in with our own imagination and our precious pineal glands for romance and bonding!!! Bad deal for the clueless!!
I have to admit that at the time I was communicating with this fake US soldier, alias Sakawa Con Boy - I felt remarkably focused thanks to the oxytocin my brain was producing. That's how people who are in love feel and are willing to "give".
Booo Hoo!!!
Ain't love scams precious?!

The Satvic Chef
Foreword:
Remembering my father's passing twelve years ago
Back in April 2001, I still remember the last conversation I had with my father. We had this conversation in the kitchen of my Manhattan apartment one day after he had his kidney dialysis done. The rosy color would always come back to his cheeks after one these kidney-dialysis sessions. At age 59, he had only 30% of his kidney functioning due to his type-1 Diabetes and Hypertension, but he kept up with his spirit and planned to start a non-for-profit international organ-donation organization. He was frantically searching and emailing doctors in India and South-America in search for a matching kidney. The doctors warned him that his condition has already placed him in an immuno-compromised status and a kidney transplant could be fatal. He refused to take a kidney from any of his children. The day he took his flight back to Suriname, he snuck out with my mother while I was taking my morning shower. I heard it and rushed out with a towel around me to catch them before they would step into the elevator and yelled at my mother why they would leave without saying goodbye. My father responded to me that if I would keep on yelling at my mother, he would never come back to see me again. And he never did.On August 17, 2001 on my brother's birthday and at his retirement party at the Dermatology Services of Suriname, he had his 3rd massive stroke while he was giving his farewell speech he practiced so hard on days before. He kept on speaking despite the fact that he was slurring and people had to urge him to take a brake and rest. The ambulance arrived and he was wheeled to the intensive care department of the hospital. The stroke was so massive that he had to be placed on the respirator. My mother had to make the horrible decision to let him go. His body was still very warm for a long time after they turned the respirator off.
Exactly three weeks after my father's passing, the Twin-Towers disintegrated. While in grieving it felt like I had lost my father in there. I remembered at the time of his last visit in New York City back in April 2001, we passed through the shopping mall of the Twin-Towers and he was so desperate to take the elevator up to the top of those buildings. But because of his illness he was so weak and we had to forfeit that attraction. I realize now that whatever existed back then just vanished in thin air.
Being a medical doctor, my father was not a stranger to his own condition himself and neither to the idea of health prevention. He represented his country Suriname in the World Health Organization with the condition of Leprosy and how to prevent this. He even created this slogan in his glory years as the chief of the Dermatological Services in Paramaribo, capital of Suriname saying "Elk Vlek Is Het Onderzoek Waard" (translated: every spot on the skin is worth an inspection). Leprosy was a disease caused by a flesh eating bacteria. After the incubation period the first sign of leprosy appears like an innocent skin rash, a sign that the infection still can be reversed and this point and such a skin rash is usually easily overlooked by people. Just with taking the preventative action by going to the doctor and having the new skin rash inspected, leprosy can be prevented. In order to be very successful in his campaign, my father had to build up the awareness and caution within the Surinamese community with his health promotion campaign. Later on, in the 80's it became the case again with HIV infections.
While providing his dedication to health prevention to anyone else, my father never saw it coming for him as well that one day his kidney would deteriorate due to his type-1 Diabetes. I remembered that we cooked sugar-free, low-fat and low sodium food all the time in family meals because of him. We engaged in exercising, jogged and danced a lot. But what killed my father was his genetic predisposition of Diabetes and Hypertension at which he already developed at an early age and detected at age 25. I may have grown up with a childhood more conscious of prolonging healthy life-style habits; but he did not -until he was officially diagnosed with these killer diseases at that young age. He was already a recreational drinker and occasionally relished his Havana cigars, but why should he deprive himself of such pleasures after a long day's of work.
I had a healthy childhood back in Suriname, until I came to the United States at age 23 and then my genetic predisposition of Obesity and Diabetes type-2 started to kick in. I am not a diabetic, because I managed to keep my weight under 160 lbs. Still, it took a Yo-yo cycle to bounce back and forth unhealthy and healthy weight. My brothers battled childhood obesity and then had thinner teenage years during the 80's, but then it became a battle again after they hit the age of 30. I am not born and raised here in the United States, never grew up as a child eating sugary cereals. I grew up in Suriname, where it is a tropical climate and people have no issue keeping their weight in control.
This experience has made me question the following: What are exactly the standards of a successful healthy lifestyle and what is the success in adopting and adapting to newly introduced healthy life style habits. Why don't we stick to healthy lifestyle habits all the time? Why are the pleasures things we enjoy unhealthy for us? Are our cultural customs harmful to our health? And I can go on and on questioning myself about this issue.
But today, I offer a flower and Holy Water from the Ganges River in his honor and remembrance!

Vibrational Attraction of the Mind!
It was one of my airy bad days! Got up in the morning and it was really humid. With a heavy bloat in my stomach, I slowly try to tilt my the weight of my body from the bed. It felt like every cell in my body was bloated. Had a lot to do, even if my life was not where I want it to be -not like I wanted it to be anywhere else. I dreaded to live and what for? What is the point?! Once in a while each of us have these bad mornings, not feeling swell, not wanting to deal with the rest of the world, not willing to carry our own weight and wondering how we got ourselves here.
Later on the day -after finishing my job- I take a brake at the local public library. While minding my own business, I plugged my laptop by a very comfortable seat near the window, a nutcase walks into the library, venting and mumbling in himself while swallowing his own vomit. Suddenly, I felt loose change being thrown at my head. While I looked up and into the direction of this 'nutcase' with a facial expression of wonder. He looked back at me and said: "I swear this will never happen again." He immediately walked out of the library and dis-appeared. As I took an inspection at the nickel and dime that was thrown at my head and wondered why he had aimed at me -a total stranger to him- I realized that it could have been a bullet, not small change. The woman sitting across me observed the situation and asked me if I was hurt, while holding her cellphone to call 911. I said "no" and she gladly nodded with delight and went on with her normal routine.

excerpt: Introduction of "THE SATVIC CHEF: THE ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DIET"
If it wasn't for the Sattvic principles, I would have never succeeded in adapting from a meat-eater to a vegan. I grew up in an omnivouros Hindu family in SUriname (formerly nown as Dutch Guyana located at the North-East Coast of South America) with Diaspora of Indentured East Indian descent dating dating back from 1873 on. I was the geeky sister who never liked eating meat, fish and eggs. Although due to my mother's and paternal grandmother's Hindu background, we never ate beef. At a certain point in my early teenage years, I decided to only stick to eating poultry, eggs and fish. Only on certain religious days, the whole family would become complete Lacto-Vegans. Growing up in Suriname, we hardly ate processed foods. Our neighbors had a few cows and sold us milk, ghee and butter. These were happy cows, treated like their own family members. I did try to stay a vegetarian for up to two or three weeks at the time and then fall back to meat-eating. It wasn't untill found a real moral drive to become a vegatarian, initiated by my own journey fo self-discovery. Even further driven to become a vegan because of the active practive of driven compassion of every living being that has a capicity to be able to experience pain and suffering.
The Understanding of Compassion & Equal Vision, Ethics 101
Two of innate primordial Godly qualities a human has that originates from spirit is the ability to sense and symphatize with another living being's suffering and the capability to see the worthiness all living beings of every different species as equal and equally important to that of human existance. These innate Godly human qualities, stand loose independently on their own from the reason of intellect. These qualities are not given to humans thru religion or conditioning through reason, as a matter of fact- religion and sensical reasoning are distractions from having the capacity to have compassion and respect every lifeform equally. At a certain point in history in human existance, religion became the instution of our ground zero thinking about ethics. And suddenly animal sacrifice to please God became acceptable and it's okay to eat meat that is religiously slaughtered, and became okay to eat fish every religious holiday. Religious rules on eating meat are set for men not to lucratively slaughter animals and profit on its carcasses, but to give the understanding to humans that at the time the crops have died in drought, it is okay to feed on animal flesh, as long as the animal doesn't suffer at the time when parting his soul from the body. Then the sentiment is shifted to the instructional practice of religion and animal slaughter and the accuracy of it while the attention from having compassion and equal vision is distracted. And from that point on humans have become the slave and victims of their religious biased practice, especially when they have to reason about their own human rights.
The biased cover-up of sentiment
My neighbor the animal rescuer loves dogs but she still get her steak and pork chops from the meat market. She can't imagine the practic of dog farming and-eating in Korea. I asked her but what is the difference between a dog's life and pork/steak? She reasoned with the facts and history how humans are on top of the food chain of livestock, and the dog was a former predator who over centuries became domesticated and serve humanity. What greater sentiment there is to bias those who serve humanity get bred and survive just for use. Seeing the dog and porkchops unequal in their evolutionary process of serving humanity is called: Biased Sentiment. Now if she had to confront the dog-eating-breeding Korean farmer, how does she explain that it is "wrong" utilize dogs to please palates and hunger! He will spit in her face, because her reason for dog-symphatizing sentiment takes the weakest stand toward his economical need to run a dog-eating farm.
This method of reasoning suits even the biased practice cannibalism, one does not eat loved ones - only enemies from other tribes whom have murdered and eaten our loved ones, eat their offspring as well.
Even those who are fully vegan will kill cockroaches and rats for pest control. What's wright to be primordially right about our capicity to have compassion and see all living beings as equals?!
